Latest from LA
It was so great to meet little G. I have to figure out how to post video. Our latest news: Lily got her ears pierced and cut both bottom front teeth at the same time! (ouch) Ray and Ileana were just here visiting southern California--Dad ran the San Diego Marathon (woo hoo!). We all were inspired and talked about possibly training for one, or a half marathon. We'll see if any of us will actually follow through...
Love to all!

Our latest news is that we have a new puppy in the family. His name is Hudson and he is a Bernese Mountain Dog. He's eight weeks old and very adorable. He's going to grow quickly, so we'll keep posting more pics. Hope all is well!

Rising Stars
Way to go Hailey! Is it possible to have done better at this competition?? Didn't you win a bunch of gold/first-place medals last time??!! You go girl!
It seems that Joe, Lily, and I will be going to Denver/Boulder over the weekend of May 5th for Joe's Dad's 70th birthday party. Hopefully the Colorado crew will be in town so we get to meet the new Little G!
We're heading to San Diego to visit with Joanna and Jason this weekend for Easter. Will post some new pictures of our egg hunt next week...
Love to All!

Outdoor girl
Hi folks!
Lily is about to turn 5 months. We're starting to train her early to like hiking. Actually she loves being outside, looking up at the trees. We made another big turn for the better this week--sleeping through the night. It took a little crying, but man is it worth it! Our next adventure will be ear piercing.
On the home front--we finally busted up some concrete around our house to make more space for planting green things in this paved-over city we live in. Now we have a lovely crumbled concrete sculpture on our front lawn. (pics of this to come soon)

great idea
This should be a great way to keep in touch! Jay and I just got back from Portland, Oregon where I had a conference. The weather was a bit rainy, but it's always fun to explore a new city. It's good to be back in sunny San Diego!

Welcome to Coast2Coast blog!
Hi folks!
I've set up a blog to make it easier for the family to share information and photos with each other. I've stolen this idea from Joe's family. The Sturges's have a blog and it has been really easy to post a quick message with a photo and know that other people will check in now and then to get the news from each other around the county. Much easier than email and attachments, i think. Give it a try and let me know. I've invited the following to post messages:
ileana, ray, joanna, jason, vivian, tara, george jr, sarah, toni, thomas, rise, alison, rob
Who else wants in? Just forward the invitation to them. Also, You can send the blog address to anyone you want to view it.
Today Lily is four months old. You can click on each picture to see them larger.
Below are some instructions on how to post to the blog:
1) Go to www.blogger.com
2) Sign in where it says "new blogger." If you don't have a Gmail account, you'll have to create one. Then type in your email and password and click "sign in"
3) This brings you to the dashboard - click on "new post" (it has a green cross next to it).
You just start writing -- give yourself a title and start to write. Add pictures by clicking on the little picture icon above and to the left of the box where you write text.
If you aren't done or not sure if you liked what you wrote you can simply click on "save as draft". If you want to see what it looks like, you can click on "preview".
When you are all done -- click on "publish"
You can add "labels" or categories at the right lower corner.
4) If you have saved something as draft, then next time you are at the dashboard you can click on "edit" and finish the posting. Also you can change your blog postings at any time you want, in case you see a typo or something. It's really easy.
I think that is all...have fun!
